Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God……..

Once upon a time before time existed, there was God. Now we all know the story in the first book of Genesis how God created everything; earth, sky, water, animals, and even mankind. Long ago, God began a story. While we may not know everything, God pretty much hits the highlights in the form of the Bible that we have today.

Genesis 2:7 then the Lord God formed that is, created the body of man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being an individual complete in body and spirit.

Once upon a time, God created Adam and later on created Eve so he wouldn’t be alone. Now, we all know this is the first couple on earth. Sometime afterwards, they had children and their children had children and so on. I know all this is foundational information that most everyone knows, but there is a method to my madness.

You see, everything God created had a purpose. The earth gives us a place to live. The sky gives us day and night for us to work in the light and sleep in the dark. Each animal and plant is here for us to eat or enjoy its’ beauty. Even Adam and Eve were given a purpose to take care of the earth and all that’s in it. Yeah, I know it’s all history, but it’s a pattern for us to live by.

Ephesians 1:9-11 He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, with regard to the fulfillment of the times that is, the end of history, the climax of the ages—to bring all things together in Christ, both things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have received an inheritance a destiny—we were claimed by God as His own, having been predestined chosen, appointed beforehand according to the purpose of Him who works everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His will,

Once upon a time, as Paul wrote above, God has given each one of us a purpose. Each individual is uniquely designed to fulfill a portion of God’s perfect plan. When we are born, we are assigned a destiny that will help fulfill the plot of the story that will ultimately finish with a happy ending. That desire you have on the inside of you to do things a certain way is from God. If you are are fascinated with the human anatomy, chances are your purpose is in the medical field. If you love giving instructions to others, chances are your purpose is in the teaching field. If you enjoy singing or playing an instrument, chances are your purpose is in the music profession such as a performer or worship leader. It’s up to us to discover that purpose and develop a plan to pursue it.

We may not know what it is at first, but God will reveal it if you ask Him. I must warn you, though, you probably want get the plan all at once. It will come in steps. But, God is faithful to give you directions to the first step. It’s up to you to take that first step. When you do, he’ll reveal the next thing you must do. Remember also, that your plan may not be the same as His. You will ultimately have to make adjustments along the way. So, are you ready to begin your life to conform to His? If so, let’s begin.
